Ever since Tony Abbot was shown in front of the infamous placards at the recent Anti Carbon Tax rally, there seems to be an outbreak of these devices. Just tonight he was welcomed by a rather sycophantic one at the end of his long bike ride.
It seems a pretty effective way of communicating an idea in a quick fashion - not just to those assembled but also for the benefit of a TV camera that may be handily placed.
Is this a backlash against that modern marvel Twitter? Maybe the Luddites amongst us are demanding their 140 characters of fame also.
